Katestone is pleased to have been awarded the contract to conduct a modelling study to help understand the issues relating to odour in the Rutherford area of NSW. The contract was awarded by NSW EPA as part of the Rutherford Air Quality Liaison Committee.
The modelling project will form one part of the project, with The Odour Unit undertaking odour sampling to inform the emissions modelling.
The study aims to develop a comprehensive dispersion model for the region; identify if odour compliance is being achieved; and if not, identify the main sources and degree of control required for compliance.
Environment Minister and Maitland MP Robyn Parker has stated that the Rutherford Air Quality Liaison Committee supported the action plan and she looked forward to their findings.
Natalie Shaw, Principal Air Quality Consultant at Katestone, will manage the project and has already got the modelling team started on the project.
