Ricky is a Team Leader at Katestone Environmental with over 10 years of experience in the fields of air quality and odour. He oversees and contributes to dozens of projects each year, with primary responsibility for delivering work related to existing facilities that are currently operational.  Typical projects include:

• dispersion modelling to evaluate potential new licence limits
• NPI reporting
• odour assessments for waste facilities large and small with emissions that might be impacting local communities
• detailed reviews of ambient monitoring data to appraise and refine the performance of a monitoring network and ensure that it is fit-for-purpose and providing as much value as possible to the client.

Ricky has assisted clients with assessments covering a very broad range of emission sources and operations, including major infrastructure projects.   He led a team delivering air quality modelling for Heathrow Airport’s proposed third runway; he oversaw the development of a bespoke assessment approach, involving the creation of a suite of project-specific tools using proprietary software alongside bespoke Python and Visual Basic (VBA) scripts, the subsequent preparation of model inputs, running of thousands of models, processing of model outputs and combination of multiple outputs (background, airside and road) for hundreds of thousands of receptors into concise and informative impact assessment results. He has also carried out assessments of a wide range of facilities and sources in Australia, from power stations and industrial facilities to transport projects and developments for sensitive uses such as childcare facilities.
