Another Member of the Katestone Team awarded the SCR Certification

That’s 2 years in a row!

We are delighted to announce that another member of our team is now certified in Sustainability and Climate Risk by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Our Team Leader – Climate Change and Greenhouse Gases, Dr. Craig Miller, has just joined the team of certified SCR professionals.

Once again, the certification is just a formalisation of many years of experience in the field. Having worked for more than 30 years in sustainable natural resource and extractive resource management in Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, Craig has a strong understanding of the drivers of climate change and of the issues around sustainability.

He is committed to consolidating his knowledge of the financial mechanisms associated with measuring and managing businesses risks related to climate change.

“The Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certification offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) allows me to apply a whole-of-business mindset to the traditional environmental consultancy services that we offer at Katestone. I have gained a new appreciation of the range of risks that our clients will have to address as our weather patterns shift due to global warming and as our society demands transformative change. These risks are not often considered during development applications, for example, and this will leave our clients vulnerable.”

Craig is helping clients quantify and mitigate risks due to the effects of climate and variable climatic conditions. Most importantly, he has been supporting our clients in the race to net-zero. He will continue to support clients to understand and manage the unprecedented physical and transitional risks they face because of global heating and climate change as they require action from governance through operations and project development.

The team at Katestone and Weather Intelligence congratulate you on this great achievement! We expect to see your work help to shape Australia in the new economy.
